Poupee Girl + Marina Barrage

Been wanting to post stuff but am just too tired n occupied.... >.< One of the stuff I am so occupied with is playing Poupee Girl ! On the left side of my blog, scroll down and you can see my self-created poupee girl of the day. Click back and you can see previous days of my doll in different styles. I know this website has been around for quite long but I just got to playing this recently only.

Poupee Girl is a fashion community where you can dress up your doll, earn ribbons (the currency used in the Poupee community), buy and sell fashion items for the doll. One of a way to earn ribbons is to post photos of your own fashion items like clothes, cosmetics, accessories, skincare, decorated mobiles & gadgets. No face is allowed in the pictures.

Screenshot of my Poupee Girl's homepage.

At first I was addicted to the Poupee Girl Market where other users sell their unwanted items. I could sit in front of the computer for half a day just to keep refreshing the Market page to buy cheap and nice items to sell so that I can earn more ribbons!

Reason for saving so much ribbons is because there are items selling in a shop opened by Poupee Girl Katherine that are pretty and exquisite, not available in the market. I've read online that items bought from Katherine's shop can only be sold 5 months and 1 day later. Even if it's for sale on market already, prices of some items like Yukata would be marked up than it's original price.

But after some time of playing I am not so addicted to it now, I just try to log in daily and change clothes for my Poupee Girl and earn some ribbons. The Poupee effect will die off after some time, just like with the games on Facebook. Haha.....

Last Sunday I went to Marina Barrage for the 1st time with bf and good friend (Hey Amilia! =P) 's bf ZX .I didn't realise the grass patch I see people flying kite on was built at the Marina Barrage building on level 3. And my bf laughed at me when I asked him where is the big grass patch, why are we taking a lift on this building! We didn't fly kite as we didn't buy any in the end (they told me there was a shop selling kites at Barrage but I didn't manage to find). We went there for a picnic and had a short session with ZX on
learning how to use the dSLR.

Photos:

Look at the Doraemon kite!!! The soles of Doraemon flaps up and down in the air... Cute!!!

It was very windy there, this pretty rainbow umbrella ZX lend me was spoiled by the huge wind as it overturned the umbrella causing the joints to be detached. It belongs to ZX's grandpa... I'm so sorry! =(

Michelle Phan : Make Your Own Pore Strips

My favourite makeup artist Michelle has finally posted up her new video! Another D.I.Y tip! Useful and interesting! Enjoy! =)

I would love to try this but I wonder what is an alternative to microwaving the mixture? I have never used the microwave in my house for years and am scared of using it =X ( ok it sounds silly but I don't dare and really know how to use one, once I did at my workplace pantry I almost burnt down the place. )

And her IQQU acne serum has a new packaging! Haix.... Which is good because the 1st generation one that I bought, I have trouble getting the serum out. The pump doesn't work well at all. Shall review IQQU products soon! I'm a procrastinator. =I

How to achieve double eyelids without surgery?

As per topic title, this post is on double eyelids. When I was younger as a child I had monolids, but later on it become small double eyelids that were often hidden. It would "come out" to meet people often but "hide" itself when it is not happy (when the lid is more puffy).

I have small eyes, having prominent double eyelids help to open up my eyes and of course looks prettier. Problem is I always have unsymmetrical looking eyes due to the different eye conditions on each side of the face. Like right now I have hidden left eyelid and prominent right eyelid. Sometimes when the condition of my eyes is really bad as I like to rub my eyes when they feel really itchy, the folds of the eyelid will be gone completely. And my undereye has super prominent deep lines. I have super dry skin around my eye area too. In other words, my eyes are always giving me problems.

In one of Popteen's issue, there was a page of the different types of  creating double eyelid tools. At 1st I didn't give much notice to it. But I went back to flip that page after I saw this on Youtube:

Looks amazing right? It looks very ideal as unlike the common eyelid tape as shown in the Taiwan show right at the BOTTOM of this post, it looks more natural as it is not so visible as it is an eyelid stretch fiber. I read up in flowerpod forum this original brand of stretch fiber Mezaik used to be sold in Sasa, but it's no longer available. It is not very cheap also if you look it up in EBay. But I found an alternative brand, ARCH Double Eyelid Stretch Fiber on Ebay, which is the same thing but at much cheaper price.

Actually I discovered another type of eyelid tape on on this site:  http://doubleeyelid.blogspot.com/  . Please go and see the video section in the website to get the idea on how to use that product.
I was tempted and decided for a long time between this and the stretch fiber tape. In the end I still wanted to try the Stretch fibre tape as I thought it was slightly cheaper. And so in mid July I recieved my package:

Was a bit disappointed when I saw the packaging below, looks different from the website, it's not even brand as ARCH. :

90 pieces of stretch fiber tape inside. But I didn't bother counting them! I wasted quite a few trying to stick it to my eyelids, but it doesn't stick well! It doesn't give me my double eyelids also. Not as easy as the video. I guess it is the problem with my lids being too thin? Or is it too puffy? I did clean my eyelids before pasting, and anyway my eyelids are super dry, it is not oily at all. This thing doesn't work for me ..... aww....... Maybe it is because it is not the original stuff so it ain't as sticky? Thus my problem of big small eyes or super small eyes cannot be solved still. Only on lucky days will I get symmetrical eyelids.

I think I have kind of given up trying other eyelid products. I also own the roll of eyelid tape before buying this. But I think it is too obvious and not natural at all. Furthermore my eyes are very problematic and is super allergic and sensitive. I think if I want to have more pretty enhanced double eyelid lookalike eyes I shall just layer on fake eyelashes, a tip Ri chan reminded me of the other day we went shopping.

Furthermore the most stupid thing that happened..........

Right eye < ---                                                     Left eye ----->

I accidentally cut my left eye's inner corner lashes as I was trying to cut away the stretch fiber tape ends! If you clicked on the video right above of this post you will realises why I need to cut away the ends. It is cropped away by my clumsy hands. !@#$%.

Luckily it is not super obvious. But I really wonder how long will it take to grow back to the same length?

Anyways I want to share with you the interesting tip Kelvin teacher in the Taiwan Beauty talk show demonstrated , on how to use the double eyelid tape. It's shown at the end of the part 1 video below and continued in part 2.

My 1st MAC product!

Saw on Xiaxue's tweet few days ago saying she finally got her MAC VivaGlam Lady Gaga lippie! Happened to be at Tampines Isetan MAC today and happened to ask about the lipstick as they never displayed it out. Guess what, they restocked it!

As stated in MAC's website:

"Established in 1994 to support men, women and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS globally, VIVA GLAM I, II, III, IV, V and VI, were launched as continuous shades and have achieved tremendous success over the years. Spring 2010 sees two new VIVA GLAM shades introduced as limited life for 12 months on counter. Ladies and gentlemen, we give you the sensational Cyndi Lauper and the electric Lady Gaga! "

"Every cent of the selling price of VIVA GLAM Lipstick and Lipglass is donated to the M·A·C AIDS Fund to support men, women, and children living with HIV and AIDS."

Love the cool shape of the lipstick. Reminds me of a bullet.= X

Under florescent lighting:
Love the Barbie Pink! & Gaga's signature on the case!

Close up colour (less lighting):

Swatches of the rouge:
On the left: One layer of the pink.
On the right: Few layers of the pink colour.

Before: My bare & super dry lips (lazy to put on lipbalm)

After: With Vivaglam Gaga on. (Ugly dead skin arghh)

Review

Packaging:

The box alone is special with Lady Gaga's "signature" printed on it in red. The actual lipstick casing itself, also has Lady Gaga's signature on it. If you are a Gaga fan, this is definitely a collector's item for you.

Product:

In terms of it colour it is a light pink with blue undertone (Lustre), an electric pink which is very Gaga! I love the girly pink. It is pigmented, but sheer if you only apply one layer. With a few more layers, I could easily cover my own lip colour!

I think anyone would be able to pull this colour off as long as you complement it with the right makeup on the rest of the face. This would look good with eyeliners, and smokey eye looks !

But the downside is that it is a bit drying. If you want to get lipsticks that are moisturising this is definitely not for you. Thus I would have to use lipbalm 1st before applying the colour. Pairing it with a clear gloss or any other coloured gloss that can complement the lipstick colour would also solve the problem.

But since this is a collector's item (in my opinion) + such a lovely Cool Pink colour ♥  + All sales of the Vivaglam lipsticks would go to the M.A.C AIDS Fund, I definitely would recommend to buy this!

Update: Forget to add in the price. Retailing @ $28SGD at all MAC counters! Not very expensive!

I give it : ♥♥♥♥  =)

Hello!

Saw this piechart from my Nuffnang account yesterday (before midnight that is).  Very interesting to see people from all parts of the world dropped by my site! Happies!

Hi there! Thanks for dropping by! If you like my site please help to click any advertisements you see at the top or the left side bar!

Random fact about Me:

This is how I look like!

with makeover done of course! =P
*That's a hair wig by the way. I wish I had hair like that. =(

Of course I look like a passer-by during normal days where I hardly put makeup at work. But I do attempt to put on makeup on days where I do not need to work and is going out! So in summary I'm a lazy girl who loves makeup yet do not bother to make myself up everyday.

P.S. Review for MAC Viva Glam Gaga lipstick coming up! Singapore MAC counters have restocked it!  Get yours now if you still want! :) Retailing at 28SGD.

Random buys

New Twisties Flavour! $1.50 per pack at FairPrice.

At 1st I thought got 2 different flavours inside, but seems like it's a mixture of the 2 flavours? Got 2 other new flavours, but I only bought one of them to try.

Slightly spicy after taste. Yums in mouth but yucks for health. =X
&
Hair Velcro pad

I'm sure many people have seen this and own this. One of the items recommended in 女人我最大 Taiwan beauty talkshow. It didn't came across to me as a must-buy, as SaSa sells it quite expensive. But 2 days again when I went to buy a comb at EastPoint Jean accessories shop(level 2), I saw that they were selling this for only $1.50.  Pink & purple available.
Normally I would use a clip to clip my fringe to the side and it would look flatten and out of shape after my makeup is done. But the velcro pad is very light and really sticks to your hair, which is very convenient for doing makeup or applying facial skincare as it helps to keep my fringe off my face without flattening my hair.

Comes 2 in a pack.

And it's available on Gmarket too. I guess Ebay should have, never bother searching for it.

If you don't want to buy online (I found some sellers selling even cheaper than $1.50), thinks that Sasa is selling it too expensive and happens to stay around the area near EastPoint, go buy! =P

Out Alone - Chapter 2 Shopping!

So after my facial on last Friday afternoon, ( hair on top of head was very flat, due to wrapping up of my head with towel during facial) , I walked towards and Ngee Ann City's direction. My 1st thought was to tidy up my flat hair, thus I wanted to look for a clean toilet!

I randomly took the escalator up and found myself at the Mandarin Gallery. It was my 1st time there, and I was amazed to find so many shops inside (mostly high end). I found a toilet at the 3rd level. It was quite spacious and clean.

So after ruffling and arrange my hair, I felt much better and decided to head towards Ngee Ann City to spend my time window shopping! The very 1st place I headed to was my all time favourite place Kinokuniya! Japanese/Taiwan book section specifically. I was so happy that August Popteen magazine was out! And only a few copies left. Normally I don't specially go down to Kino to buy them, only when I happened to be in the area then I will check the magazines section out.  And Popsister was just beside it. I have never read Popsister before but was curious thus I headed towards the information counter and requested to browse through an opened copy of the magazine, along with Ageha magazine too. But I decided to save up my money after browsing through them, as I think the stuff that they publish are about the same. Gyaru makeup and fashion. But I still cannot resist buying Popteen as I think the images of the gyarus (gals) they portray are cho kawaii!

Popteen 1st time featring Nishino Kana  as their cover model!
Normally it's Kumiko chan!

And I browsed through to see if there were any interesting freebies along with the Jap mags, none really got me interested enough to purchase them. I headed towards the Taiwan magazine section. I didn't want to buy more magazines, but I was tempted (what's new?) by Mina, ViVi, and Fashion Guide (FG). Normally I would use to buy ViVi mag in Jap cos I think it's not worth it to buy Taiwan's version as I realised they actually "break up" one month Jap Vivi issue into maybe 2 months of the Taiwan's issue. Jap Vivi is usually twice as thick as Taiwan's one, thus also more expensive. But the good thing about Taiwan ViVi was that I could understand every single word written, whereas the for ViVi in Japanese I could only make out basic words.

It took me a long time to decide what to buy, as I'm trying to save up money, I couldn't afford to buy all the magazines I felt like! In the end I bought Fashion Guide, as I have never read it before. It is more of a makeup magazine. And it came with 2 free sachets of olay hair serum. Have not used it yet though.

 Inside of August PopTeen Magazine

Natsu Matsuri (Summer Festival)  is coming.. Look at all the pretty Yukatas featured!
*P.s. Click on the pictures to view the full image. Only half the picture I taken is shown here! Maybe I should change my layout soon. Gomen ne.

Black

Pink

 White

Japanese Street Fashion opens Yukatas spree from time to time, the last one just closed! I was tempted to get one, but I've got no occasion/place to wear it, and I'm trying hard to save money now thus lack of action. =(

And look what I saw inside Fashion Guide magazine:

Adverts of
My Beauty Diary Bird's Nest Mask!

&

My Beauty Diary Southern France Apricot Mask!

I heard from my colleague that she saw Bird's Nest flavour is available in Singapore already, at Guardian/Watsons? I never bother checking out the masks in Singapore as I bought a lot from my trip to Taiwan last year. And buying in Taiwan is definitely much cheaper. And I gave a lot of the masks away! I gave away much more than I use them. I am just too lazy. But I still did try asking my colleagues who are in Taiwan currently to try to bring back a few for me if possible.

 Summer Makeup in Blue

Fashion Guide Beauty Awards 2010

Up for voting between 2010 July 1st and July 21st.

Okay enough of the magazine contents. After my shopping at Kino, I went to my next favourite place in Ngee Ann City. Watsons!

Didn't intend to buy anything... But......
My 1st Rimmel Haul!

There was this young girl promoting Rimmel products. I was browsing through the cosmetics section when she approached me and said " your lashes are very long! Want to try the new Rimmel volumnising mascara? No need to buy if you don't want!" Since I was free, I went along with her. She curl my lashes and applied on the mascara for me. The wand of the mascara is interesting, see below:

It is actually a mix of soft and hard brush head for great volumising effect! The bend part in front (soft portion) actually makes it easier to apply my inner eyelashes.

And it is really waterproof. In fact, I had slight difficulty removing the mascara! My lashes felt kinda harder, than other kind of masara I used before. (Shall post pictures n reviews of masaras I have soon!)  I'm using Loreal's lip and eye makeup removal. For the curling effect, it is not WoW! but it has some curling effects. But mainly because of my really naturally droopy lashes, a curler is really important. And by right one should not curl lashes anymore after applying mascara, but in order to have more obvious curls the promoter suggested curling once again after mascara. But still I don't recommend doing this as it makes your lashes more vulnerable to breaking.

Yep so I decided to buy the mascara ($19.90) and the young Rimmel promoter said if I spend over $30.00 got free gift, and she would throw in one more lipgloss for me for free (that is suppposed to be for purchases over $50.00). That's because she say the sales for Rimmel is not very good. Which is kinda true as it is facing many other strong competitors just in Watsons alone!

So I bought additional turqoise liquid eyeliner and duo ends green eyeliner pencil. I wanted a black kohl eyepencil but it was out of stock, and the promoter actually used the dark green end of the kohl pencil to line her lower lashline and it looked pretty much like black.

They are clearing stocks for the coloured liquid eyeliners so the originally $15.90 liquid eyeliner is now $8.00 and the 2 sided coloured eyeliner pencils are now only $6.00, original price at $11.90 I think?

Free gift of lipgloss over $50, and free liner pencil over $30. Rimmel Cosmetic promotion ends 31st July.

Ohh and I saw Dolly wink products still in Watsons! The left over stocks of the falsies and some liquid eyeliner and brown pencil liner. But I already have mine, so nevermind. Haha..

Next up, went clothes shopping!

Came across this shop at ION orchard, I suspect it to be under the same company as TopShop Zara blah blah. There were some sales item. And I bought this :

White cotton Top. For $29.90. Originally at $49.90.

I'm a sucker for white clothings. I love White!

There are lots of sales at Zara, Topshop. Tried one pretty pink dress which cost $96 but it don't fit.And I met up with Yiting who was going to Taiwan. (now in Taiwan!) for a bit before her friends reached Orchard for dinner. She was tempted to buy the LuciDarling LED lipstick in one of the colours. I bought 2 myself, will do a review when I have the time!
Baby bought me this later on when we met up after we had dinner at Cineleisure:

To be used together with the cheap iron curler bought at Watson's sales last time.

Yep so I had a great day shopping and this is end of my lengthy blog. Thanks for reading! ♥
